Horsley Herald Term 3 Week 6 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
We watch the number of cases rise to well above six hundred. NSW Health continues to monitor and guide our situation.
On Friday 20th August the announcement was made about extending our lockdown in Greater Sydney until the end of September and The Premier Gladys Berejiklian stressed, “Please keep your children at home unless you absolutely can’t!”
We remain very concerned as the locally acquired cases of transmission right around us continue to spiral. I must stress the importance of keeping your children at home, to minimise mobility to stop the spread of the virus. If you are at home, or working from home, please keep your children at home.
Our school in the Fairfield LGA will remain open with an absolute minimum of staff. Two staff will remain on site (for safety reasons). Our school is staffed by teachers
This means we remain in our Learning From Home model for the rest of this term.
Parents and carers in the Blacktown, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool and Parramatta LGAs, as well as select suburbs in the Penrith LGA, are strongly encouraged to keep their children at home if they are able to do so, in order to limit movement in the community.
Our school has been identified as a Level 4 Plus school.
The schools in this category are:
- Level 4 plus schools - applies to schools in the following local government areas (LGAs): Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, select suburbs within the Penrith LGA, Strathfield.
Level 4 Plus Schools
We have provided work for learning from home, however if you can’t get through it, don’t worry. We are not asking for perfection in any way, shape or form, rather for students to give it a go and complete work assigned.
As we continue to live in lockdown LGAs and we manage our family, children, work and other commitments, please go easy on yourself. You can’t fill from an empty cup. We need to look after ourselves so we can look after our children.
If you reach out to us, we will do our best to support.
