Horsley Herald Term 3 Week 10
Our students have had a wonderful Term 3. There have been many opportunities for our students to engage in different ways including carnivals, dress up days among others. I would like to wish our students a wonderful and safe break. We will see all of our students on Monday 12th October.

Staff Changes for Term 4
At Horsley Park Public School we are very fortunate here to have wonderful, dedicated teachers and staff who strive each and every day to ensure all our students are 'known valued and cared for'.
Commencing Term 4 Mrs Lewer will be teaching K6 Fern on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Khoo will be teaching K6 Fern Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Mrs Lewer is an outsanding teacher who has been a member of our staff for many years is returning back in Term 4 and is looking forward to be teaching the students of K6 Fern in Term 4.
Miss Ferrari will continue to be at Horsley Park Public School and will continue to focus and broaden our school’s literacy and numeracy programs in her Instructional Leadership role.
I would like to thank Miss Ferrari for her dedication and commitment to K6 Fern during Term 1-3.

Generosity Matters
This week we are looking at generosity, which is the fourth pillar of wellbeing. Generosity benefits our wellbeing as the wellbeing of others, whether it is our family, friends or our wider community. Data shows that when people practice generosity, they activate circuits in their brain which are the keys to nurturing their wellbeing.

Susan McLean is Australia’s foremost expert in the area of cyber safety and was a member of Victoria Police for 27 years. Widely known as the ‘cyber cop’ she was the first Victoria Police Officer appointed to a position involving cyber safety and young people. What a big day we had at our athletics carnival!!
The sausage sizzle was a huge success and the kids loved it!! The Lolly bags and doughnuts we are told was the highlight.!!
We managed to raise a profit of $469.96!!
Thank you to everyone who purchased and supported the bbq and also a huge thank you to Poinciana Sala Suivai for the donation of the rolls and doughnuts, we are so thankful for all you do for our school. Also thank you must go out to mums Katerina, Rebecca & Mel for their time and help with running the bbq all day.
We are hoping to fundraise or have donated a big drink fridge for the canteen. It gets used a lot for drinks as well as all our fun days. If you are able to help with this please contact our p&c at Hppspnc@gmail.com

Breakfast Club is coming…
Next term, Horsley Park Public School will be starting up a Breakfast Club on selected days each week. This initiative is completely free of charge and is available to all Horsley Park Public School students. Breakfast Club aims to provide a nutritious breakfast for students to ensure that they have the energy to learn and focus on the day ahead.
We would love to get your feedback and any ideas you might have regarding the implementation of a Breakfast Club. Below is a link to a short survey and we would appreciate your feedback and comments.
