Horsley Herald Term 3 Week 7
Celebarting Student Achievement and Progress
We are past half way through term three and what a productive term it has been. Our parent teacher phone calls have been a huge success with a great deal of uptake from our parents and carers. It was wonderful for our teachers to have the opportunity to communicate with our families about the ongoing hard work and improvements of our amazing students.

Sport in Schools Australia Program at Horsley Park Public School Term 3
Since the commencement of Term 3, each Friday Horsley Park Pubic School students have been participating in the Sport in Schools Australia program with a focus on Athletics. Each week SISA assist with the education of our students with a focus on a holistic approach to learning.
The SISA Athletics Program is focussed on gross motor skills in students which relate to the core PDHPE syllabus outcomes of Games and Sport and Active Lifestyle. With annual school Athletics Carnivals it is critical to upskill and prepare students for the proper technique, mechanics, safety, rules and regulations of certain track and field events.
The upskilling then provides the platform for increased self-esteem, self-confidence and maximises their full potential in core athletics disciplines such as Shot Put, Discuss, Long Jump and High Jump. The programs are designed to play a significant role in profiling and advancing the education of PD/H/PE at primary school level. SISA focus on the recognition that an active lifestyle and regular physical activity can deliver associated health benefits.
