Horsley Herald Term 2 Week 9
Thank you
As Term 2 draws to a close, I want to thank you all for working with the school to ensure the very best has been done as a school community to be safe and limit the transmission of Covid-19.
Teachers and staff have been working super hard with our addirtional routines and putting in huge amount of effort into designing teaching and learning programs.
Sickness
The most important advice we can give is that if you are sick, please stay home from school. I realise it can be hard to juggle, work and other commitments but the Department of Education's position is that everyone at school must be 100% well. Your support is very important to ensure we continue to be as safe as possible and limit the spread of any viruses and other illness.
Please read the latest advice.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Teachers particpated in professinal learning on Wednesday 24th June to support implementation of teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students.
Mid-Year Reports and Parent-Teacher Interviews
Reports will be very different for the Semester 1 period. They will come home in Week 5 Term 3 due to the interruptions from the Covid-19 virus. Teachers will provide you with information about your child's progress but reports will not contain a grade. This is consistent with the Departtment's advice.
At this stage we cannot have interviews but we are hoping that the Department may review this during the school holidays. With parents and carers only coming into the school for essential visits, you are encouraged to contact your child's teacher via email or phone if you would like to discuss your child's progress in the meantime.
Farewell & Good Luck Mrs Basak
I would like to inform you that Mrs Basak has been successful in achieving a position as a teacher librarian at a new school. Her new role will commence in Term 3. Mrs Basak has dedicated over 12 years at Horlsey Park providing quality teaching, learning and leading as a passionated and committed educator. I am sure you will join me in wishing Mrs Basak all the best in the future as she continues to persue her professional and personal goals.
