Horsley Herald Term 2 Week 6
Its our second week of face-to-face teaching and learning and we have settled back into school. Our classrooms are filled with teachers and students who are happily learning together and our playground is full again with the laughter of children as they enjoy playing with their peers.
Thank you to our students, staff and families for working together in ensuring the successful transition back to full-time school.

Statements were sent home in your child’s bag this week. If you would like to pay our $35 per student or $60 per family voluntary school contribution, please send either cash with your child or call the school to pay over the phone. Thank you to those families that have already sent in their contribution.
Uniforms
Although our procedures have changed, you are still able to purchase uniforms for your children. Please either phone the office or speak to staff on gate duty in the morning. Once the office is informed that you require uniforms, a uniform order form is written out with your order. The uniform is sent home with the child, with the amount owing. Payment can be made over the phone or cash can be sent to school with your child.

We kindly request that all devices (and their chargers) loaned out for 'learning at home' be returned as soon as possible so that they can be used in classrooms.
Students at Horsley Park Public School have embraced PBL rewards both in the classroom and playground.
On the playground students who have been caught displaying any of our core values have been rewarded with tickets each break time that they can put into the PBL boxes for the chance to win a prize.
All rooms throughout the school have the core values and school rules displayed with positive behaviour charts used by classroom teachers to support students in making good choices and rewarding positive behaviour.
Our PBL rule focus for this week is on reinforcing
‘How to look after our belongings at school’.

Dear parents and carers,
What a busy term it has already been!
I am so happy to see all the lovely students in K/6D. Miss Anna and I have really missed seeing their happy, smiling faces at school each day.
We have already been very productive back at school. We have got right back into spelling, reading, writing, maths and our other Key Learning Areas and the students have been great at getting back into their school routine.
I’d like to say a big thank you to K/6D parents and carers for their dedication, flexibility, and hard work during the remote learning period.
I was so proud of my students for their great work during writing lessons that we have had. We look at a new book each week and write sentences each day about an image in the book. We look at what good writers do each day and the students enjoy telling a friend about the sentences they have thought of.
Last week, we had a fantastic Friday sport lesson where we played some duck, duck, goose which the students absolutely loved. It was great to see so many happy faces and all the students were so eager to participate. They all took turns and were very well behaved during these games. We then moved on to chasing bubbles across the playground and practiced our excellent running skills. To wind down after our sport lesson, we did some chalk drawings and this gave students a great opportunity to create some amazing drawings as well as gave them the chance to talk about what they were drawing with their peers.
I look forward to another fantastic term with the beautiful students in K/6D.
